I am not an Oakland University Student, I am a Macomb Community College Student.

1. If you need to use WIFI on your own computer, this is not the place for you if you are not a student. You are allowed to use their computers internet if you sign up for it and you must do that each visit. They have computers on every floor.

I utterly enjoy this library.

3. If you want quiet study, go to floor 3. Otherwise, you will have the noise of study groups. However, that floor for some reason is freakishly cold in the study rooms, so bring a small heater...seriously.

You cant use wifi and you need a student ID

Note: You have to have a student account to log into their wifi. Try grab one from a student there.

Kresge library is my favorite. The library is open to anyone, and I'm lucky that my apartment is just a few miles away. I'm not a student anymore, but love library still.

This library has served me incredibly well through an engineering Bachelors degree, and now my Masters degree in engineering. It supports every type of study environment from loud and open group study to closed off individual study in open or reservable study rooms. There are large study rooms with tables that can be reserved for group meetings, as well as "cabanas" which include smart tv's and large whiteboards to aid discussion. Lots of open computers that are free to use for Oakland Students. OU students can check out any number of books, and those in the public are allowed to check out up to 5 at a time. There are bathrooms on every floor, There's a coffee shop on the main floor. There are also specialty collections like for government documents, microfilms, or music records. They run a nuber of events, or engagement the opportunities through the year which are promoted in the library and online.

4. Mon-Fri there is a coffee shop that is open until 11:00 pm. They serve starbucks coffee.

2. The library is open 24 hours however, if you are not a student you must leave at midnight, and can come as early as 7:00 am Monday-Sunday. Which is great considering almost every other library in Macomb County (where I live) closes at 9 pm and early (2-4) on Sundays.

Cons: This is not a big library for a university this size. No entry without student ID and no available internet for guests. Library staff in front are very unhelpful and rude. Pros: Has cafe inside, allows food, well lit library.
